At each meeting, we have a show and tell section where we show what we have been weaving and spinning.
Meeting Topics and Events
17 Sep 2018. Monday, 5:30 pm. Convergence 2018. People that attended Convergence will talk about their experience.
13 Oct 2018. Saturday from 9 am tp 3 pm. At the end of the class, you will have a completed twining sampler. If you are interested in attending the class, email the contact at the bottom of this page.
Twining is a portable method of interlacing strands. You can make pot holders, rugs, table mats, chair seats and seat covers, pillow covers, etc without using a loom. You can also twine on a loom. Depending on the materials you use, twining can produce a very thick, sturdy fabric. Because it can be done on a simple frame loom, you can bring your projects with you. If you want to see some images of the twining that Bobbie Irwin has done, see Bobbie Irwin Twining
19 Nov, 2018. Monday, 5:30 pm.
17 Dec 2018. Monday, 5:30 pm. Christmas Party.
The third Monday of Jan, Feb, Mar and April of 2019 at 5:30 pm.
At various events, we demonstrate weaving and spinning in order to get awareness and to tell people about our weaving branch. If you help at one of these events, there will be a warped loom with the weft available. You can weave on the loom or bring your own spinning wheel, inkle loom or card loom.
Here is a list of events we plan to participate in. Details will be posted for each event as they become available.
Dicken's Festival, St George Convention Center, Dec 2019.
